Q: How do I find a book or a video in the library?

A:

Note the library location (eg Academy Library Canberra), shelf number and location area of the book found through the SearchGateway (Library catalogue). An item may be located in the following collections; main, multimedia, periodicals, folio, maps or microfilm. These sub-collections are located in different areas of the top floor in the Library.

All shelves are marked, indicating particular collection types. The shelf number is a number that allows library materials to be organised in a consistent, logical and easy to find manner. Items are categorised alpha-numerically and in ascending order.

Floor plans showing the location of collections within the library can be found below. For further assistance please contact Library staff via the Ask Us service.
